Cheaper Isn't Always better

Some people tend to think that getting a cheaper photographer is best for their dollar and eventually their bottom line.  I strongly disagree with that point of view.

Getting a cheaper photographer is often times not the best choice, especially with important events like weddings, engagements and even church ceremonies.  I had an ah-a moment when I started to think of my own wedding and the decision that was made to go with a cheaper, $300 dollar photographer.

Let's just say my wife and I don't have a single picture hanging up in our home from our wedding day--absolute disaster.

Here are some reasons why you should pay for a good photographer

1.  Experience-You can't ever underestimate the value of a good photographer.  Their experience through whatever events they have done will pay off to you the customer.  You don't want to have crappy photos to remember your treasured memories.

2.  Oversaturation- You are responsible for the oversaturation of novice photographers flooding the markets today.  Not saying that competition isn't good business, what I'm saying is, it hurts the quality versus the quantity of those who should be considered "professional photographers."

3.  Value- A cheaper photographer is usually an overworked photographer, which in turn creates a photographer who isn't taking the time to fine-tune or value their work.  I'd rather have a photographer who takes their time in editing, shooting and presenting awesome work versus some 100 digital image on a CD for $20 photographer.  As they say, you get what you pay for.
